Writing the first draft in 100 days is just the start. You have to write a book people want to buy if you are going to become a best selling author.
You will never feel ready
You will never feel ready. It is a harsh reality that you need to face. Whether it is writing your book, taking an action on another goal, or starting a business you will never be ready. Uncertainty is something that you need to get used to, and fast.
Perfectionism is the issue. Being perfect or having the complete finished package is just an idea. It does not actually exist. Maybe you don’t want to fail or to get things wrong. But you don’t need the whole roadmap to be able to start. You just need to have clarity on what the next step is. Completing step 1 will lead you to clarity on step 2.
The step you need to take at the beginning is write. Embed writing into your routine, and don’t negotiate with yourself. When you say you will show up and write, you must show up and write. That is how you write a book in 6 months.
